An East Greenwich woman is facing her second driving under the influence charge after she allegedly struck a Rhode Island State Police cruiser on Interstate 95 in Providence early Sunday morning.

Police said Nicole Dilello, of 4565 Post Road, was driving at around 12:30 a.m. when she struck one of two police cruisers blocking the left lane of travel as troopers were assisting a disabled motor vehicle.

Dilello reportedly drove by the first cruiser before striking the second, which was unoccupied and had its emergency lights on. The impact forced the car forward into the disabled motor vehicle.

Fortunately, the troopers and the occupants of the disabled vehicle were out of their cars and were able to move out of the way. But Diello, who police said showed signs of impairment, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for complaints of pain along with two 16-year-old juveniles who were riding along in her car.

Along with the DUI charge, Diello was charged with refusing a chemical test, driving with a suspended license and transporting an alcoholic beverage as an underage person. Police said they saw an open container of alcohol in her car.

The juveniles were summonsed to appear in Family Court for underage possession of alcohol as well.
