Police Log: A Lover Scorned

The following is based on reports from the East Greenwich Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The East Greenwich Police made the following arrests:

Kimberly Ann Arkins, 22, of 26 Hawkins St., Providence, and Livanne Sandoval, 21, of 62 Simmons St., Providence, were charged with disorderly conduct and simple assault Aug. 15 after an alleged fight between the two girlfriends of one man.

Officers responded to calls of a disturbance at a home at 111 Duke St. at about 8:30 a.m. Arkins reportedly had let herself into her boyfriend’s mother’s home with Sandoval, finding the father of her two children in bed with his pregnant other girlfriend. Arkins reportedly assaulted the other girlfriend while she and her friend leaned over the two sleeping in bed. Arkins and Sandoval, only to be pulled over and arrested on Main Street soon after.

Kathy T. Doyle, 48, of 88 Warwick Ave., West Warwick, was charged with disorderly conduct Aug. 13, after officers responded to The Hotel at 162 Main St., for reports of a woman screaming at passers-by at 1:30 in the morning. The reportedly intoxicated Doyle allegedly refused several police requests to quiet down and find a ride home, continuing to yell and swear at others on the sidewalk. In addition, an employee of the hotel reported Doyle was continually harassing her through the night.

Back at the police station, Doyle reportedly continued to be combative, refusing police orders.

Jeffrey F. Hallinan, 49, of 279 Main St., Apt. 3, East Greenwich, was charged with vandalism at the Normandy Rooms on Main Street. He allegedly swung a sledgehammer at his neighbor’s front door, punching a hole in the door.

Shadrick M Simms, 38, of 118 Ocean St., Apt. 5, was arrested on a 3rd District Court bench warrant and charged with driving without a license after an officer pulled him over on Main Street for suspicion of texting while driving. Simms reportedly told the officer he never applied for a license and he was on probation for a previous weapons charge. He also reportedly said he had recently been arrested for marijuana possession.

Wendy L. Phillips, 38, of 9A Whitman St., Smithfield, was charged with driving on a suspended license Aug. 18 after being pulled over for allegedly speeding on First Avenue.

Edward Sherman, 52, of 15 Castle St., East Greenwich, was arrested at his home on a 3rd District Court bench warrant.
