Police Log: Ain't Taking Paint, Speeding with Weed

Information about the following incidents was supplied by the East Greenwich Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

June 28, 8:35 a.m.: Patrol Ofc. John Allen went to the town pumping station on Oak Dell Circle for a report of paint left at the entrance. Allen said he found plastic garbage bags and a plastic tub 'containing numerous paint cans,' and found paint splattered on a nearby driveway. The resident of the home told Allen that she'd tried to throw out the paint at the transfer station the day before, but had been told to let the paint dry before bringing it back. Allen wrote in his report that he told the woman that she couldn't leave the paints in the area of the pumping station.

11:09 p.m.: Patrol Ofc. Shane Dinagen stopped a car on Division Street after his radar showed it traveling at 40 mph in a 25-mph zone. In his report, Dinegan wrote that in checking the license of the driver, identified as Joseph MacLeod, of Warwick, he found that the car was unregistered. Dinegan reported that he ordered the car towed from the scene, and cited MacLeod for speeding and driving an unregistered vehicle.

June 29, 2:39 a.m.: Probationary Patrol Ofc. Matthew Larsson pulled over the car driven by Sierra Laroux, 19, of West Warwick, on Division Road after Larsson said he observed the car speeding. Larsson wrote that Laroux's car was traveling at 44 mph in a 25-mph zone. After stopping Laroux's car, Larsson said he smelled burnt marijuana, and asked Laroux whether she had any in the car. According to Larsson's report, Laroux admitted to having a 'roach' and produced a large glass cylinder containing a substance that looked like cannabis. Larsson cited Laroux for speeding and marijuana possession. She is due for a hearing at the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal on July 9.

June 30, 10:41 p.m.: Officers responded to a two-car accident at Frenchtown Road and South County Trail. Patrol Ofc. David Imbroglio reported that the driver of one car, identified as Ryan Bloschichak, appeared to be drunk. The driver of the other vehicle, a Dodge Caravan, told police that he'd been traveling west on Frenchtown Road when Bloschichak's car struck the left-rear of the van. A witness said he'd seen Bloschichak's car try to pass the Caravan, then flip over after the two vehicles collided. Officers charged Bloschichak, 31, of Charlestown, with a misdemeanor charge of DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test, and issued citations for leaving the lane of travel, failing to control his vehicle, and driving without insurance.
