Police Log: Backpack Reappearance

Backpack, Purse Found Days After Theft
Police responded to Cracker Barrel at Friday, Feb. 14 at around 3 p.m. after the manager found several items under her vehicle. According to police, the manager found a Columbia backpack, a Vera Bradley lunch bag, and a Fossil wallet. A police dispatcher told the officer that the items may have been stolen from a vehicle at the Applebee’s across the street two days prior. Police were able to find a driver’s license in the purse and contacted its owner, who confirmed that she was missing several belongings.

Carol E. Dowling, 37, of West Warwick was charged with driving with an expired license on Feb. 10 at 11:33 a.m.

Michael A. Berndtson, 31, of 1 Giovanni Rose. Ct. in Coventry was charged with driving with a suspended license on Feb. 13 at 12:16 a.m.
Matthew F. Webster, 31, of 59 Lafayette Drive in East Greenwich was arrested Feb. 13 at 1:14 a.m. following a bench warrant for his arrest.
Osmar Lee, 43, of 71 Hillwood Street in Providence was charged with driving with a suspended license on Feb. 17 at 12:18 a.m.
