Nobody made physical contact or wanted to press charges, police said, and the scene was cleared.

HARASSMENT
A Reynolds Street woman reported to police on June 30 that a man with whom she had been dating has been harassing her with text messages and e-mails and police ultimately issued a no-trespass order.

Police said the woman told them that he man was sending messages such as “I will marry you” and “I will not give up” and drove and parked in front of her house that day. She managed to make him leave by messaging him, but soon saw him drive by her house several times.

Police said they contacted the former boyfriend and told them to stop contacting the woman. He said he wouldn’t, and sure enough, sent her another text message.

Police then issued the no-trespass order and the former boyfriend eventually signed it after police explained that the woman wanted to be left alone.

WARRANT
East Greenwich Police arrested Angelica Torres, 24, of 10 Dorrance St., Providence, on a warrant and for driving with a suspended license July 1.

Police said Torres was involved in an accident at the intersection of Division Street and Howland Road that sent a 14-year-old girl to the hospital for precautionary measures, according to a police report.

A check of Torres’ information at the scene showed she was wanted for failing to appear on a prior charge and was taken into custody without incident.

INTOXICATED FEMALE
East Greenwich Police restrained and transported a 32-year-old Castle Street woman to Kent County Hospital after she was reportedly walking drunk and barefoot on Main Street near Citizens Bank at around 3:35 a.m. on July 2.

Police said the woman was behaving strangely and screamed obscenities.

X-RAYS FOUND
A 9-year-old’s x-rays were found on the ground along High Hawk Road on July 2, police said.

The x-rays were found by a local man who brought them to the police station. Police said they contacted Newport Hospital where the x-rays were taken.

SOLICITING WITHOUT PERMITS
East Greenwich Police cited several men for selling magazine subscriptions and collecting donations in town without permits on July 2.

Police said they were dispatched to Westfield Drive at around 7 p.m. for a report of two men soliciting subscriptions.

Police said one of the men, Travis Roberts, 18, of Bethleham, GA, was told to stop soliciting earlier in the day but he still selling subscriptions when they got to Westfield Drive. He was issued a summons along with Terrance Lee, 32, of Cleveland, OH.

Police said the men told them they worked for Urban Development Solutions and they were transported to Dunkin Donuts on Division Road at Route 2 and released with a warning they’d be cited again if they continued to solicit without a permit.

About 30 minutes later, another officer was dispatched to Reynolds Street for a similar report and police found Keith Anthony Washington, 23, of Neward, DE, who was also cited for soliciting without a permit.

Police said Washington told them he was asking for door-to-door donations for a charity called Graceful Hands, which is a subsidiary of Urban Development Solutions, of 18530 Mack Ave., Gross Point, MI.

A check showed Washington was warned twice last year for the same violation.

He was released from the scene without incident.

FORKLIFT ACCIDENT
A 54-year-old Warwick man and employee of Arnold Lumber in West Kingston suffered bumps and bruises and was transported to Kent County Hospital July 3 after a forklift accident.

Police said the man was working at a Laurel Wood Drive address and when he began to pick up a pallet of blocks, the forklift started to roll down the sloped driveway and crashed into a ditch.

The man told police he tried to apply the brakes but they wouldn't hold and the forklift hit a tree, causing him to bump his head on the roof.

He then jumped out and struck his chin on the ground.

Police said a crew from Arnold Lumber came to the scene to remove the forklift and the victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

ATTEMPTED BREAK-IN
Someone forced open a back door to a Pequot Trail house on July 5 but only got access to a garage and basement and took nothing, police said.

Police were dispatched to the house close to midnight and were told by the homeowners that they left at 6 p.m. and when they got back around 11:45 p.m., they noticed the door had been forced open.

The residents then immediately called police and waited outside for them to arrive.

Police said a check of the house showed the alleged intruder apparently left the scene after he or she was unable to get inside the house through an interior door inside the garage.

An investigation showed a large crack on the side of the door that appeared to be from someone forcing it open.

The investigation remains open.

HOUSESITTING GONE WRONG
An X-Box 360, ten X-Box games, $500 cash and a pair of headphones were stolen from an Empress Drive house while the residents were away in Maine, police said.

On July 6, a resident told police that the items were stolen while they were away since July 2. During that time, a 17-year-old female was asked to check on the house and feed the pets.

Police contacted the juvenile, who came to the house with her father to explain what happened. She said she went to the house the night before along with a group of friends despite being told not to have anyone other than herself at the house.

They then all stayed at the house overnight, she said, and she left with several of the friends to Providence to get alcohol and marijuana, leaving two males, aged 19 and 20, behind.

On the way to Providence, the car they were using broke down in Elmwood and they took a taxi back to the house where they stayed until 6 a.m.  She then went to the beach in Narragansett with everyone who was at the house with her.

Police said the girl promised to make amends and began to try to get in touch with her friends in an effort to get the stolen items back.

The homeowner said she would not press charges if the items were returned or restitution was made.

Police are investigating.
