Police Log: MacBook Air Disappears, iPad Appears

Information about the following incidents was supplied by the East Greenwich Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Jan. 10

5:55 a.m. – A driver told police she’d struck a deer on Division Road while driving to work but did not find any damage to her car. Police found the deer on the side of the road with two broken legs and difficulty breathing. They euthanized the deer and notified the state Department of Environmental Management.

2:03 p.m. – Police arrested Scott A. Kent, 45, of King Street, for failing to pay a restaurant bill after he was taken into custody by Coventry police. Kent is accused of failing to pay a $118 bill at Main Street Coffee.

Saturday, Jan. 11

9:24 p.m. – A Fifth Street resident told police someone took her MacBook Air laptop computer overnight. She was out of the house and other family members said they didn’t notice anything amiss. There was no evidence of anything else missing or forced entry.

4:08 p.m. – Police arrested Andrew Roderick, 35, of Main Street, West Warwick, on two Third District Court bench warrants after a tip. He was found walking on Main Street in front of Rok Bar and was taken into custody. After being processed at the station, he was taken to the Adult Correctional Institutions.

Sunday, Jan. 12

5:10 a.m. – Police arrested Kathy T. Doyle, 49, of Long Street, for disorderly conduct after a Long Street resident told police she was was drunk and broke a mirror at his house, where she had been living. Doyle, who smelled of alcohol, said she didn’t know what happened to the mirror. Police took her into custody; she was processed at the station.

3:47 p.m. – A Fox Run resident told police she found an iPad on her driveway. Police traced it to a Providence man, who said he must have dropped it while house-shopping in East Greenwich earlier in the day.
