Police Log: Main Street Dog Owner Cited, Complicated 'Family' Assault

Information about the following incidents was supplied by the East Greenwich Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Sept. 23

8:51 a.m. – A security officer at New England Tech told police an instructor was missing a camera flash and thought it had been stolen. The flash, valued at $550, went missing Sept. 19. It had been stored in a locked cabinet.

5:54 p.m. – Police arrested an East Greenwich man, 20, on a bench warrant after he approached police to retrieve his dog, which had gotten loose. Police were aware there had been a warrant on the man; they did a check and found the warrant was still in effect. The man was taken into custody. He paid his bail before a bail commissioner and was released.

Tuesday, Sept. 24

11:01 a.m. – The manager of Centreville Bank told police about graffiti she found on the columns in front of the bank, profanities. She said children stand in front of the bank waiting for their bus and often leave trash. By the time mark of the photos (from surveillance video), police surmised the students were from Cole Middle School. The school resource police officer was notified and said he would speak to the students in the photo, whom he knew.

3:06 p.m. – Police arrested Dacia M. Broccoli, 26, of Warwick for assault, disorderly conduct and vandalism following an incident at Scramblers on Sept. 20. Police found Broccoli at her home. She was taken to the station, processed and released. 

3:10 p.m. – Police arrested an East Greenwich woman, 81, for driving with an expired license after she was involved in an accident on Division Street at Howland Drive. She was cited and released. 

9:10 p.m. – Police arrested Gary Alan Raymond, 52, of Main Street, for violating a no-contact order, third offense, a felony. Police found him at his home, took him into custody and held him overnight.

Wednesday, Sept. 25

12:58 p.m. – Police arrested a Warwick man, 25, on two failure-to-appear bench warrants after he was stopped while driving on Main Street for failing to wear a seatbelt. Police were conducting a "Click It or Ticket" detail there. He was taken into custody, processed at the station, then delivered to District Court.

1:47 p.m. – Police cited the owner of a dog on Main Street after finding the dog, a standard poodle, off leash. The dog had disappeared by the time the police had parked, but police knew the dog's owner, who has been cited before, and a ticket was mailed to his Main Street address.

5:58 p.m. – A Warwick man, 39, was arrested on a bench warrant after police ran a check on him because he was present at a residence during a domestic disturbance. He was taken to the station, processed, then taken to the ACI.

6:08 p.m. – Police arrested Robert A. Zwolinski, 53, of East Greenwich for assault and disorderly conduct after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend's son's girlfriend during an argument over a dog. He was taken into custody, processed at the station and released on personal recognizance after appearing before a bail commissioner.
