Police Log: Nuts in the Road, No-Tresspass Orders, Juvenile B&E

Information about the following incidents was supplied by the East Greenwich Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

June 24, 10:32 a.m.: Police responded to Division Road at the Rte. 4 ramps for a report of 'thousands of nuts and washers in the road.' Officers reported that the vehicle had left the scene, and notified the Department of Transportation.

10:33 a.m.: Patrol Ofc. David Petrucci responded to Petro Oil for a report of a man loitering near the building. The company's office clerk said she would like a no-trespass order issued against the man, identified as Matthew Boudreau, 26, of 184 Pequot Trail. Petrucci wrote in his report that Boudreau denied being at the oil company, and signed the paperwork acknowledging the no-trespass order.

5:07 p.m.: Patrol Ofcs. Shane Dinagen and Patrick McCoy cited a 21-year-old Cranston man for marijuana possession following a traffic stop on Main Street. Dinagen reported that Yehuriel Marmol was the driver of a silver Honda Accord that had illegal window tint on its windows. Officers found 1.3 grams of marijuana in the trunk of the car and another unidentified substance in the pocket of a pair of blue jeans held by one of the passengers, Dinagen reported. Marmol was released until a municipal court hearing on the drug possession and illegal window tint citations.

June 25, 9:49 a.m.: Officer Kerrie Mazur took a report from Charles Scott, 34, of 5 Brayton Meadow Way, who said that he had paid a roofing contractor $7,800 for work that had not yet been done. Mazur reported that Scott identified the contractor as Brandon Tully, 42, of Hopkinton. Scott said he had paid Tully on May 30, and that Tully had cashed the check on June 10 — but by June 24, Tully had still not done the work. According to Mazur, Scott said he'd left voicemail messages for Tully without success. Tully could face a felony charge of obtaining money under false pretenses.

June 26, 8:47 a.m.: Patrol Ofc. Tyler Lufkin arranged the removal of a car on Queen Street that was in the way of a construction crew. Lufkin determined the car belonged to a Central Falls resident. Belleville Auto Salvage towed the car from the scene.

June 27, 8:01 a.m.: Patrol Ofc. John Allen responded to Lifespan Cardiovascular Institute, 1454 South Main St., for a report of a missing purse. An employee said she suspected the purse — which contained her wallet, cell phone, and Visa cards — had been stolen. Allen noted that there was 'no surveillance in place' at the scene.

8:27 a.m.: Det. Glen Terilli reported that Robert Gruttadauria, 27, of West Greenwich, went into police headquarters to answer for a disorderly conduct charge filed by East Greenwich Police on May 27. Terilli wrote that officers processed Gruttadauria and released him until a scheduled July 12 hearing in Third District Court.

4:10 pm: Officers arrested three juveniles, two 17 and one 16 years old, for breaking and entering, trespassing, and misdemeanor larceny on Reynolds Street.

6:32 p.m.: Patrol Ofc. David DelBonis went to the town boat ramp on Crompton Avenue for a report of a car in the water. The driver, identified as Monique Philpot, 42, of Duke Street, said that she had parked her car and left it running at the top of the ramp while she picked up her son. The 2003 Chrysler then started rolling down the ramp; Philpot told DelBonis that she tried to get back into the vehicle before it reached the water, but could not. East Greenwich Fire and Rescue crews responded to the area, and Belleville Auto Salvage pulled the car from the water.
