Police Log: Stolen Purses, Cars Broken Into
Information about the following incidents was supplied by the East Greenwich Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Warwick Man Arrest Following Bench Warrant
Corey James Belmore, 25, of 200 Post Rd., Apt. 615 in Warwick was arrested Feb. 4 at 1:10 p.m. on a Superior Court bench warrant for his arrest. Belmore was a passenger in a car driven by Erin D. Guthrie, 24, of Maplewood Drive in Coventry who was found by police to have a suspended license. When police checked Belmore’s license to make sure it was active, they discovered he was wanted on two bench warrants from Superior Court. He was taken into custody and brought to Kent County Courthouse.
NK Man Charged With Stealing Purse

John M. Elliott, 25, of 156 Bethany Ln. in North Kingstown was arrested Feb. 7 at 7:28 a.m. on charges of larceny.
On Jan. 29, Elliott allegedly stole a purse from a woman at Fat Belly’s on Main Street. The woman reported it missing the next morning. Police reviewed surveillance footage provided by the owner of Fat Belly’s and were able to identify Elliott as the alleged thief. Elliott turned himself into police on Feb. 7 following an arrest warrant.

Cars Broken Into On Lafayette Drive
A Lafayette Drive resident reported that someone had broken into two of his vehicles overnight on Feb. 6 and stolen several items, including an iPod and loose change. Later the following day, another Lafayette Drive resident reported that someone had gone through her car and stolen an iPod as well.
