Police Log: Two Deer, Two Roads, Same Time

Information about the following incidents was supplied by the East Greenwich Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.


Wednesday, Dec. 5

12:45 p.m. – Police arrested Christopher Pimental, 35, of Main Street in Cumberland, on a bench warrant. At the station, he was unable to make bail, so he was transferred to the ACI.

5:36 p.m. – Police euthanized a deer after it was hit by a car on Middle Road. The car sustained damage to its hood, bumper, and windshield. Police used a shotgun to put down the deer.

5:45 p.m. – Police euthanized a second deer (see above) after it was hit by a car on Division Road. The car had to be towed from the scene; police used a shotgun to put down the deer.

Saturday, Dec. 8

3:17 p.m. – A Warwick man reported someone had damaged his car when she opened her car door into it at the parking lot for Aim High Gymnastics Academy on South County Trail. 

5 p.m. – A Brookfield Court couple both reported instances of identity fraud involving credit card applications filled out online with a total of five different financial institutions.

Sunday, Dec. 9

12:50 a.m. – A resident of Long Street asked police to eject her husband from the residence because he was drunk and argumentative. After some discussion, the woman decided she would spend the night at her mother’s and the man stayed home.

1:32 p.m. – Police stopped a drunk West Warwick man who was walking on King Street who said he couldn’t find his car and they had him call someone for a ride. They then took the man to the station to await his ride.
