Police Log: Unlucky Carload & Downed Mailboxes

Information about the following incidents was supplied by the East Greenwich Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Dec. 14

9:49 a.m. – A Spring Valley Drive resident told police her $300 mailbox was destroyed overnight. She said her dog had been barking angrily at around 2:30 a.m. but she see her mailbox until the she got up. No other mailboxes in the neighborhood appeared to have been damaged.

10:25 a.m. – Police arrested Jessica Jeanne Paolozzi, 28, of Post Road, Warwick, for driving with a suspended license after she was stopped for speeding on Route 4. Her two passengers were also arrested. Keith Richard Recabo, 28, of Warwick Avenue, Warwick, was arrested on a Superior Court bench warrant. Anthony Lucas Pizzo, 31, was arrested on a 4th District Court bench warrant. Paolozzi was processed at the station and released with a district court summons. Pizzo was processed at the station, made bail and was released. Recabo was processed at the station, then transferred to the Adult Correctional Institutions. Paolozzi’s car was towed from the scene.

1:09 p.m. – A Downing Street resident told police her mailbox was destroyed overnight.

3:57 p.m. – A South County Trail resident told police someone had entered a storage shed on his property and taken some items.

Sunday, Dec. 15

Around 9 a.m. – Two Lenihan Lane residents told police a snow plowed struck their  mailboxes at around 4:30 a.m. while clearing the street. They said the mailboxes cost $700.

5:05 p.m. – Police arrested Katrina C. Elswick, 22, of Asqah Drive, North Kingstown, for driving with a suspended license after she was stopped because one of her tail lights was out. Routine checks turned up the license violation. She was issued a court summons and released at the scene with direction to stop by the station for processing sometime before her court date. A friend drove the car away.

5:55 p.m. – Police arrested James Ulbin, 24, of Main Street, for driving with a suspended license after he was involved in a car accident at Frenchtown Road and South County Trail. Routine checks turned up the violation. He was issued a court summons and told to report to the station for processing before his court date. A friend drove the car away.
