Residents Displaced After Fire At Brookside Drive House

No one was home at the time of the fire.

A fire at a single-family house on Brookside Drive Sunday night caused significant damage but no injuries, according to acting Fire Chief Russell McGillvray. No one was home at the time of the fire.

Several calls came in to report the fire, McGillvray said, at around 10:20 p.m. Sunday.

"The fire was in the rear of a raised ranch," he said. It remains under investigation, but appeared to have started in the kitchen and dining room area. He noted the family's Christmas tree was not involved and remained intact.

Firefighters were on the scene for about two and a half hours, McGillvray said. Warwick Fire also responded and NKFD covered for EGFD.

The family is staying elsewhere.

McGillvray said he was glad no one was injured but noted, "It's a terrible time of year to have a house fire."
