Road Rage And A Skipped Hotel Bill

Monday, Sept. 17

2:20 p.m. – The landlord of an apartment on Main Street told police he’d recently evicted the tenant and had been fixing it up for new tenants but he arrived today to find the door smashed with a hole in it and that someone had gotten in and put holes in the drywall with what looked like his hammer. He said he wanted the destruction noted for insurance purposes.

7:49 p.m. – Someone from the EG Housing Authority told police they’d received anonymous complaints of animal neglect at a EGHA unit on Duke Street. Police investigated, finding three dogs and one cat, but no signs of any illegal activity.

Tuesday, Sept. 18

10:19 a.m. – A Duke Street man told police he thought his estranged wife had taken some things from the boat he keeps at Wilson’s Dock. He said he had a No Contact order on her.

5:17 p.m. – Police cited a North Kingstown woman for driving a car with a suspended registration after she was pulled over on First Avenue because police could see no inspection sticker. Routine checks turned up the suspended registration. Police had the car towed and drove the woman to her job.

5:26 p.m. – Police cited a North Kingstown man for driving a car with a suspended registration after he was pulled over because the car had no inspection sticker. The car was towed from the scene and the man was issued a court date.

5:47 p.m. – Police arrested an EG man, 44, of Marlborough Street, for disorderly conduct after he was involved in a road rage incident with a Warwick man. According to the report, the Warwick man merged onto Division Street from Route 4 and the EG man tried to speed past him, then stayed on his tail, following him into East Greenwich. At Knollwood, the Warwick man turned right, then right again on Kenyon, the EG man continuing to follow him. At the intersection of First and Kenyon streets, the EG man got out of his car and banged on the window of the other man’s car. The Warwick man called 911 at that point and turned right on First Avenue and then turned into the EG Police Department lot. The EG man again got out of his car and yelled at the man to get out of his car, spitting on the driver’s side window when the man refused. The Warwick man said he wished to press charges. The EG man was processed and arraigned, and told as a condition of bail to stay away from the Warwick man.

Wednesday, Sept. 19

9:30 a.m. – A Cresthill Drive resident reported someone had been in his car overnight. When he went to his car this morning, the driver’s side door was ajar and the glove compartment door was open. Nothing appeared to be missing. The car had been unlocked.

10:13 a.m. – Police arrested Christopher Olivier, 24, of Greenville Avenue in Johnston, for failing to pay his hotel bill after a one-week stay at the Greenwich Hotel on Main Street. He was arrested on a warrant by the Providence police. EG police picked Olivier up for processing at the East Greenwich station. He was arraigned in Kent County Courthouse.

1:16 p.m. – A Cresthill Drive resident reported someone had been in her car overnight and she was missing a red leather wallet, and a cell phone and charger. The car had been parked in her driveway and had been unlocked.

3:23 p.m. – A West Warwick man told police his passenger side rear view mirror was removed while his car was parked outside Swift Community Center between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. today.

4:32 p.m. – Police cited a Cranston man for driving an unregistered car after he was pulled over on First Avenue because the temporary plate on the car had no dates. Routine checks turned up that the car wasn’t registered. Police had the car towed from the scene.

7:05 p.m. – Police arrested Karissa Thompson, 21, of Central Avenue in East Falmouth, Mass., for driving with a revoked license after she was stopped on First Avenue because someone at Shell gas station had reported a possible drunk driver. While police smelled alcohol when they stopped the car, Thompson did not appear impaired and she told police she’d taken over driving because her companions had been drinking. She also told police her Massachusetts license was revoked for failure to pay fines. Police confirmed the revocation, cited Thompson and had the car towed.
