School Committeeman Martin Arrested for Driving With Suspended License
Martin was also cited for driving an unregistered car without an up-to-date inspection.
Paul Martin, four-term School Committee member, was arrested Thursday, Aug. 9, for driving with a suspended license after he was pulled over on Division Street near Howland Road because his car bore no inspection sticker.
In a routine check, police found Martin's license to be suspended. In addition, the car showed no active registration since August 2011.
Initially Martin, 69, told police he could not find his registration or insurance and explained he was with the School Department. According to the report, when police told him they'd learned his license had been suspended, Martin said, "I'm going to call your chief!"
