Southern RI DUI Task Force will Deploy May 16

The Rhode Island Office on Highway Safety's Blue Rip Tide grant program is paying for the effort.

The Southern Rhode Island DUI Task force, comprised of more than 30 officers and troopers, will be deploying on May 16 in the hopes of stopping drunk drivers.

A total of 10 communities will be subject to the task force's patrols.

The mission of the task force is to deter, detect and arrest impaired drivers.

The Rhode Island Office on Highway Safety's Blue Rip Tide grant program is paying for the effort.

Departments from South Kingstown, North Kingstown, Richmond, Charlestown, East Greenwich, Narragansett, West Greenwich, Jamestown and Westerly are part of the task force along with the Rhode Island State Police.
