Police charged an 18-year-old Warwick man with vandalism and trespassing after he allegedly sprayed the word "disrespect" on a bridge along London Street.

An 18-year-old Warwick man was arrested for trespassing on Amtrak property and spray painting a bridge near the train tracks along London Street on Wednesday.

Police said they caught Jaevon Sampson on the tracks with a can of blue spray paint near his feet with the word "disrespect" freshly painted in the same color on the east side of the bridge.

Officers were dispatched to the area at around 5 p.m. after a report of a vandal on the tracks.

Sampson allegedly admitted to spray painting the bridge and was taken into custody without incident.

Sampson was charged with vandalism and trespassing and was released with a summons to appear in Third Division District Court on July 25.
