Town Councilor Charged with Domestic Simple Assault

EG Police charged Town Councilor Bradford Bishop with domestic simple assault and domestic disorderly conduct on Sunday night.

An East Greenwich Town Councilor is facing charges of domestic simple assault and domestic disorderly conduct.

East Greenwich Police said Bradford Bishop, 56, was charged with the two charges on Sunday night.

According to police reports, officers were dispatched to Bishop's Adirondack Drive home at around 10:03 p.m. for a report of an assault.

After his arrest, Bishop was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace at the station and later released.

A no-contact order was issued.

Bishop attended Monday nights Town Council meeting and made no mention of the incident during the meeting.

Police did not initially release any additional details about the incident.
