Coyle Proposes $59.8m Budget

The fiscal 2015 budget for East Greenwich is out.

Town Manager Thomas E. Coyle III has submitted a $59.8 million budget for fiscal 2015 — a 3.02 percent increase over last year.

The budget includes a 2.19 percent increase in the school's appropriation, increasing from $31.7 million to $32.4 million.

On the town side, the budget is increasing by about $1.1 million to $20.6 million — an increase of 5.87 percent over last year.

Coyle, in his budget message, said the goals for the year were to stay under the state-mandaded 4 percent budget increase cap, continue to support business growth and maintain financial stability, among other goals.

This year, the budget includes increases to a few departments because of contractual salary increases. All employees will be getting a 3 percent salary increase.

More details about the budget will be posted soon. Check the attached budget message (click download PDF to grab it).
