Hi! My name is Rachel Morley, sophomore at , writer extraordinaire. I’ve lived in East Greenwich since the middle of sixth grade, so about four years. Single child, but with two dogs, a cat, assorted fish and a Dad to make up for the lack of siblings. I play piano, and have for 11 years. I have a job and am currently taking drivers ed. Not my favorite thing to do for three hours every Monday and Wednesday, but hey, I’ve only got 6 months and 28 days till freedom.
Other than that? My loves as of now? My piano, the new book I’m reading (Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand), the Glee episode that I saw yesterday, and 8tracks.com (check it out, for all your musical needs).
I believe that with a massive sense of humor and huge amounts of perspective, you can do anything. Although some amazing music doesn’t hurt.
I’m going to try and post this blog every Saturday morning, and talk about things pertaining biggest part of my life right now. High school.
Biggest thing right now? Prom! Which is the 13th. Yes, I’m going and I couldn’t be more excited. (You should see my dress.) It’s the talk of the school. Prom, that is. Not my dress, who’s going with who, who’s wearing what. Did you hear it’s at the Rosecliff Mansion in Newport?
Quotable quote of the week:
"These are the years! Don't be content with things as they are. Don't take no for an answer. Never submit to failure. Do not be fobbed off with mere personal success or acceptance. You will make all kinds of mistakes; but as long as you are generous and true, and also fierce, you cannot hurt the world or even seriously distress her. She was made to be wooed
and won by youth. She has lived and thrived only by repeated subjugations."
Until next week,
P.S. Check out my friend Divya Mahadevan. She’s a blogger on The Patch, too. She’s amazing.
