Parents of special needs students in East Greenwich schools are being encouraged to join the parent oriented advisory committee on special education issues that is relaunching this fall.
The East Greenwich Special Education Advisory Committee (EG SEAC), which went dormant for most of last school year, will hold its first meeting October 1 at the EGSD administration building, 111 Peirce St. It w ill be led jointly by the newly appointed head of special education, Bradley Wilson, and a volunteer leadership team of parents, including Donna Perry, Cherie Cruz, and Ebru Marino.
“Whether you are the parent of a child who has been receiving special education services over a number of years in East Greenwich schools, or your child has had a recent diagnosis that could greatly impact how their education will be managed going forward, we urge you to consider joining the group,” said Perry, a member of the parent leadership team for the Committee.
In addition to parents, the Committee also welcomes special education-related teachers, administrators and others involved in the advancement of special education services in East Greenwich schools to consider joining.
