College Dean's Lists For Spring

The following from East Greenwich were named to their college's dean's list for the Spring 2012 semester.

Villanova University named the following students to the Dean's List for the fall 2011 semester:
Katherine Boyarsky
is enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences;
Vanessa Denice is enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences;
Robert Duffy is enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences;
Thomas Laferriere is enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences;
Stephen Marcaccio is enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; and
Christine Surabian is enrolled in the Villanova School of Business. Villanova University Dean's List recipients are honored by their college's respective dean. To qualify, one must be a matriculated full-time student and earn a semester grade point average of at least 3.5.

Victoria Gehlmeyer has been named to the Spring 2012 Champlain College's Dean's List for academic achievements and achieving a semester grad point average of 3.5 or higher. Gehlmeyer is majoring in Marketing.

Keene State College has released the Dean's List for the spring semester 2012. Among the 1,390 students named to the Dean's List are:
Kateland Elizabeth Dittig, Ian Mathews Dolan, Chloe Rose Edmonds, Davis Glenn Fitch, Max Mark Ruginski, Diana Marie Schaller, and Elisabeth Jayne Thompson.

Keene State College's 12th Annual Academic Excellence Conference took place on March 31, 2012. This student professional conference is designed to showcase the academic work of Keene State students and the collaborative work between students and faculty. It allows students to share excellent work with a broad audience, and prepares them for submitting proposals to professional conferences. 162 students presented 192 oral and poster projects, exhibits, panel discussions, and workshops this year. Among the participants were the following local students: Chloe Edmonds presented on Piecing Together the Past: Inspiration Through a Survivor of the Holocaust and Carolyn Lonergan presented on The (In)Visibility of a Mother and Homosexuality: Photographs of Casey and Caylee Anthony, FOX's "Glee" Television Show, and Obama's "It Gets Better Project" Online Video.

Paige McClatchy, a member of the class of 2013 at Connecticut College, has been named to the Dean's High Honors list for the 2012 spring semester.

Stonehill College recently named the following local residents to its Dean's List for the Spring 2012 semester. Melissa L. Marciano, a member of the class of 2012. Susan M. O'Connell, a member of the class of 2012. Elizabeth M. Perkins, a member of the class of 2013. To qualify for the Dean's List at Stonehill, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

The following hometown residents were named to the Dean's List during the spring 2012 semester at Salve Regina University: Nicole Palumbo and Kristen Pfeiffer. Pfeiffer graduated in May. To qualify for the dean's list, full-time undergraduate students must earn a minimum grade point average of 3.6 with no grade below a "B" in that semester.

Brittany Cocozza, daughter of Janet Cocozza of East Greenwich was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Saint Michael's College. Cocozza is a May Graduate Business Administration & Religious Studies major at the liberal arts, residential Catholic college located in Burlington, Vermont, one of America's top 10 college towns. Students who complete a minimum of 12 credits and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.4 at the end of a semester are recognized for their scholarship by inclusion on the Dean's List. Cocozza graduated from St Johns Univ Sta Is before coming to Saint Michael's.

Breanna Lynch of East Greenwich has been honored with placement on the Dean's List at Wheaton College in Norton, Mass., for the spring 2012 semester. Lynch, a member of the Class of 2014, is pursuing a major in French studies. To earn Dean's List honors, a student must complete at least three graded courses and earn a grade point average of 3.5 or above.

The following local students have been named to URI's Spring 2012 Dean's List. To be included on the Dean's List, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average.

Kelsey Gallo of East Greenwich who is majoring in Photography at UMass Dartmouth, has been named to the Spring 2012 Dean's List in recognition of earning a semester grade point average of 3.2 or higher of a possible 4.0.

To be named to the dean's lists, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

To qualify for the dean's list, a student must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grade lower than C. Full-time students must complete at least 14 credits, including 12 that have been graded A through C in a semester. Part-time students must complete at least six credits during a semester to be eligible.

Amanda Miller, of East Greenwich, has been placed on the Gettysburg College Dean's Honor list for outstanding academic achievement in Spring 2012.
Students with a quality point average of 3.60 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for a semester's work are placed on the College's Dean's Honor List.

Laura K. Duff, a member of the Class of 2013 at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, was named to the dean's list for her outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2011-12 year. Duff is the daughter of Robert and Jill Duff of East Greenwich, R.I., and attended East Greenwich High School.
Students whose grade point averages were 3.68 or higher were named to the Dean's List.
New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) is pleased to announce that Lucas Wilbur was recently inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK)  International Honor Society along with 70 other outstanding students at a ceremony held at the college. He is enrolled in the college's Business Management Technology program. To be eligible for membership in New England Tech’s PTK Chapter, known as Beta Xi Phi, students must complete at least 24 credit hours of coursework leading to an associate degree, maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.8, and demonstrate leadership, service and fellowship accomplishments.

Daniel Tagliatela, a Senior in Accounting from East Greenwich was named to the spring semester Dean's List at Bryant University.
