EG Seeks Parent Input About All Day-K

The survey asks whether all day kindergarten is a good idea, what might influence a parent's opinion in either direction and whether it would do a better job preparing children for first grade and beyond.

East Greenwich Public Schools are in the midst of exploring all day kindergarten, having established an ad-hoc committee in April to study the feasibility of offering it at Frenchtown and Meadowbrook Elementary Schools.

Now, the school district is asking for the input from parents in a 20-question survey.

The survey asks whether all day kindergarten is a good idea, what might influence a parent's opinion in either direction and whether it would do a better job preparing children for first grade and beyond.

The district asks one survey per household be completed.

The district's study would culminate in the offering of all day kindergarten in the 2015-2016 school year, if approved.
