EGHS senior heads to Haiti

Caitlin Indermaur will be part of a small group of photographers who will be in the town of Jacmel for eight days.

  • Caitlin Indermaur, 17, is a senior at EGHS. On Tuesday, she's traveling to Haiti for eight days.
  • Caitlin is going to Haiti with her senior project mentor, Boston photographer Barbara Peacock, and others to take pictures and teach art classes. When asked by Peacock to go on the trip, she jumped at the opportunity.
  • “I’m interested in humanitarian work and film and photography,” she said. “This is something I’ve always wanted to do. I’m interested in film too. I’m hopefully doing a documentary there too.”
  • As for her parents, they are nervous, she said, but they understand how important the trip is to her. Caitlin will attend Clark University in the fall. There she plans to focus on international development and art, following a path she started in high school through her involvement with Invisible Children.
  • “I really want to expose global issues through art,” she said.
