The program has been running since 1993 and Lt. Governor Elizabeth Roberts honored Gammons, along with one student from every other high school in the state, at a ceremony at the State Room of the Rhode Island State House on May 19.
The program recognizes students who have made a positive difference in their schools and communities.
Each high school in the state chooses one student that "best embodies the qualities of a student leader," Roberts said.
That leadership comes in conjunction with a dedication to school, learning and community service.Congrats, Rachel!
