Council Recognizes Hershey Track Athletes, EGBA Boys Team

Over the summer, six youngsters competed at the Hershey state meet – one of those going on to the nationals; and the EGBS Boys 8th grade boys team continued its winning ways.

The Town Council took time to recognize some young EG athletes at its meeting Monday, Sept. 9:

Laura Murphy traveled to Hershey, Pa., for the third summer in a row to compete in the Hershey Track & Field National Championships, placing sixth overall in the 100 meters in the 13-14 year old category. Her times in both the 100 and 200 meters were the fastest in New England.

Ally Carlsten competed in the local and state Hershey meets, placing first in the 100 meters, 200 meters and the long jump in the 11-12 year old category.
