Pet of the Week: Champ

He is an affectionate, loving beauty.

This week's pet of the week is the beautiful Champ! Champ has a coat that is completely blue gray, which gives him a regal look. Champ is a 12-year-old male. Another senior cat adds to our growing number of older cats.

Champ was surrendered to us by his owner, who claimed he didn't get along with kids, cats or dogs. Hearing this, I expected Champ to be a little standoffish, but after I opened his cage, he began purring and rubbing himself all over my face! When I finally began to move back, he put his front paws over my shoulders and nuzzled me, purring all the while. He is such an affectionate, loving beauty.

Champ has a clean bill of health and is waiting for someone to come along who can cuddle with him. Please don't let his age be the reason you don't give him or all of our other older cats a chance. It seems in the cat world that age is just a number. I can confirm this after the recent events with my 19-year-old girl.

To see Champ and all of the cats, dogs, puppies and kittens, come to East Greenwich Animal Protection League Open House on Sunday mornings 10:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. Or check out egapl.org for even more!
