Indoor Farmers Market: The first St. Luke's Arts & Farms Market takes place today from 3 to 6 in the upstairs auditorium at St. Luke's Church (corner of Peirce and Church Streets). Lots of easy parking, live goats, great fresh food, music and storytelling.

Operation Thank You @ Ocean State Job Lot: Ocean State Job Lot has a long history of commitment and support for military service members and their families. Panera Fundraiser for Jake: The Panera Bread at East Greenwich Square on 1000 Division Street in East Greenwich, Rhode Island announces that it will hold a 10 percent of sales night in memory of Jacob “Jake” Aversa who unexpectedly passed away last month at the age of 13. The fundraising event, which will include a raffle prize table with all the proceeds going directly to the Aversa family, will be held on Monday, October 21st from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Jacob was an 8th grader at the Alan Shawn Feinstein Middle School in Coventry.

Cindy Wood Garden Club meeting: The garden club is hosting a pruning workshop at a private garden. David Renzi, owner of Out In Front Horticulture, will demonstrate pruning techniques on different plants and trees. The meeting is free and open to amateur and experienced gardeners. Attendees are invited to bring photos of problem plantings; David will give advice on how to trim them. The meeting begins at 9:30 with light refreshments. Zoning Board meeting: One commercial and one residential application are on the agenda (here). At Town Hall, 7 p.m.

Vote for the Odeum movie: Voting closes today to choose the movie to be shown at the Odeum on Nov. 1. Here's a link to the story – you leave your vote in the comments section there. Get involved and get excited! 

On Thursday …

School Committee Finance Committee meeting: The panel meets at the school administration building, 111 Peirce Street, 7:30 a.m. (that’s right, morning).

Library Friends Celebration: The whole week is dedicated to celebrating Friends of the EG Library in conjunction with National Friends of Libraries Week. The highlight of the week is a delicious reception Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome – you don’t have to be a “friend.” At the library, of course!

EGHS Cabaret 2013: East Greenwich High School Drama Department is proud to present its annual Cabaret 2013. Drama students will be performing a wide array of dramatic hits Thursday and Friday evenings at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person, and include complimentary refreshments (while they last).

State GOP chair in EG: Mark Smiley, chairman of the R.I. Republican Party, will speak in front of the EG Republican Town Committee Thursday, discussing the state of the party and plans for the 2014 elections. At Caprice,455 Main Street, at 7 p.m.

On Friday …

FINAL MARKET OF SEASON-Goddard Park Farmers Market: The farmers market at Goddard Park is down to its final weeks. Fall vegetables, plants, baked goods, and more. Off Ives Road, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

School Policy Subcommittee meeting: They meet at the superintendent’s conference room at 1 p.m. discussing these policies.

School Health & Wellness meeting: This panel will be finalizing health and wellness goals for the year. It meets in the conference room at Cole Middle School at 4:15 p.m.  

On Saturday …

Halloween Parade & Festivities: The costume parade kicks off at 10 a.m. sharp from Academy Field, followed immediately by an egg hunt at the field.  From 10:30 to noon join in the Trick or Treating on Main Street. Until 12:30 p.m. you can catch a hayride from the rear of the municipal parking lot along Main Street and enjoy some games and refreshments at Town Hall. This event is sponsored by the EG Parks & Recreation Dept., the EG Veteran's Fireman's Association and the Main Street Merchants Committee. For additional information contact, the Parks & Recreation Office at 886-8626, ext 1. Check the Town web site as the date draws near for a list of  merchants participating in the Trick or Treating (www.eastgreenwichri.com).
