Monday Essentials: Recycle Pick Up, New Town Manager

Your guide for life in East Greenwich this week.

Recycles get picked up this week: Just a reminder – we are on an every-other-week pickup schedule for recyclables now. This week we need to put both trash AND recycle containers curbside.

Last outdoor EG Farmers Market of the season: Swing by Academy Field this afternoon and pick up prepared foods (Middle Eastern delights from the Deli or pizza from Bravo), items to grill (seafood from Matunuck Oysters, meats from Pat’s Pastured), and lots of fresh vegetables, as well as breads and pastries. From 3 to 6 p.m.

Wake for Roger Allard: The longtime EGHS teacher will be waked tonight at Henault-Gallogly Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St., West Warwick on Monday 5 to 8 p.m. You can read his obituary here and remembrances here and here.

Town Council meeting: The Council plans to vote on a new town manager at its meeting tonight. They interviewed five candidates, including interim Town Manager (and Police Chief) Tom Coyle. EG Patch will post the information as soon as it is available. 7 p.m. at Town Hall.

Private Well Water Workshop: During the workshop you will learn how you can protect your private well through: regular testing, private well maintenance, and good housekeeping practices for your well. The workshops are hosted by the Rhode Island Department of Health and the University of Rhode Island's Cooperative Extension Water Quality Program.
