Monday Essentials: Indoor Market, Waterfront Meeting

On Monday …  

Indoor Farmers Market: The St. Luke's Arts & Farms Market takes place today from 3 to 6 in the upstairs auditorium at St. Luke's Church (corner of Peirce and Church Streets). Lots of easy parking, live goats, great fresh food, music and storytelling.

Christ Community Kitchen: The monthly community meal at St. Luke’s is open to everyone. On the menu today is shepherd’s pie. It’s free but donations are welcome. From 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Waterfront Meeting: Waterfront residents and business owners are invited to discuss concerns about waterfront activities during the summer. Police Community Room at 5:30 p.m.

Strategic Planning Ad Hoc Committee Meeting: This School Committee-guided panel meets for the first time Monday at 5:30 at in the library at Cole Middle School.

Town Council meeting: On the agenda (which you’ll find here) is proclamation for Claire Sharpe and presentation of the Boston Post Cane to the town’s oldest resident, as well as recognition of retired Fire Chief Peter Henrikson. The meeting at Town Hall begins at 7 p.m.

On Tuesday …

Broadway Babies: A musical theater class for preschoolers. Students will learn several vocal selections from the "The Lion King" and then practice "staging" the songs. Proper singing techniques will be taught and practice materials will be provided. The class includes a final showcase that family and friends are welcome to attend. The instructor is Valerie Remillard Myette. For children 4 to 6 years old for six weeks, Tuesdays 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the Parks & Rec office. Teen Center: The Teen Center has provided a great place to hang out on Friday evenings for decades now. They meet at the gym at Eldredge School but you don’t have to play basketball to enjoy the camaraderie. From 6 to 8 p.m.

Liberty Drinks: Tony Jones hosts "Liberty Drinks," a networking night for libertarians, voluntarists, anarcho-capitalists, liberty movement folks, etc. At Manchester 65, 65 Manchester Street, West Warwick. For more information, contact tonyjonesinri@gmail.com.

Scouting for Food pickup: The Boy Scouts will be returning Saturday morning to pick up bags of canned goods they are hoping you will leave by your front door. tied to your front door handle. The Boy Scouts will be back next Saturday, Nov. 2, to pick it up – filled with canned goods, they are hoping.
