Yard Sales: At 5504 Post Road – at least 20 local PEO Chapter F Sisters are cleaning out their homes for this big yard sale fundraiser. PEO, a woman's organization, donates money to support women's education by offering grants and scholarships. At 13 Gould Place – a multi-family-moving sale antiques, furniture, holiday items, tools, toys, clothing, household items. At 8 a.m.

EG Rotary Mum Sale: The plants will be on sale at the following locations from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. United Methodist Church - South County Trail; Phipps Realty, 427 Main Street; Coldwell Banker, Main Street; and Staci's Place, 99 Main St.

Abraham Lincoln in Providence: Providence Actor Robb Dimmick makes a rare appearance as Abraham Lincoln, 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in America, 75 North Main St., Providence. In recognition of the 150th anniversary of his enduring Gettysburg Address, Lincoln will recount his military life,  ordeals as Commander in Chief, and the days leading up to his delivery of the address. Sponsored by the Roger Williams National Memorial, the performance will end with a stirring recitation of The Gettysburg Address. The event is free and open to the public.

On Sunday …

International Rock Flipping Day: That’s right – flip a rock, find a bug today. You can do this on your own, or you can go to the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium in Providence.

Adopt-A-Pet Open House: Animals are available for viewing and adoption today with the assistance of a dedicated East Greenwich Animal Protection League member. The open house takes place at Greenwich Bay Animal Hospital from 10:30 to 1 p.m. Individual appointments are also available.

Grief Support: This group at Christ Church is open to anyone who is grieving the loss of a loved one. Each session begins with a video followed by discussion. Through helpful insights and caring and compassionate discussion, the healing process can begin. 2 p.m. For more information, contact the Christ Church office at 884-8632 or info@christchurchec.org.

London Bridge Wine Tasting at Besos: This annual event features great wines and Besos appetizers along with the opportunity to bid on a variety of auction items, including a stay in a NYC apartment, Thailand condo, charter boat and more!!
