Homeless Awareness Campout & Fundraiser: The youth of First Lutheran Church of East Greenwich are holding their Annual Homeless Awareness Campout & Fundraiser Weekend beginning at noon Saturday and ending at noon Sunday. The young people will be camping out on the front lawn of 118 Division St. to bring awareness to the plight of homeless individuals and families in New England. They will be collecting funds and donations (clothing, blankets, nonperishable food) for the Rhode Island Family Shelter – the only shelter in Rhode Island that accepts entire families. The public is encouraged to stop by and chat with the socially conscious youth about what this weekend means to them and what impact they hope it will have.

‘The September Issue’ @ library: Ever wonder exactly who decides what next year’s trends will be? On Saturday at 2 p.m., show up unfashionably on time for a screening of "The September Issue," with an introduction by EG resident Diane McCraken of Johnson & Wales Fashion Merchandising Department. This revealing and sometimes funny documentary is a rare look inside the workings of Vogue magazine as editor Anna Wintour and creative director Grace Coddington produce the heavyweight September issue. Free.
