Smith's Castle has been overrun with pirates! Take the ride to NK to enjoy the noon-to-4 p.m. experience. $8 adults, $3 for kids 6 to 12, free for younger. Rated "arrr."

Sunday, Aug. 25:

Celebrate Rhode Island's founder [did you know it's 350 years this year?] at Touro Synagogue in Newport with a performance of New and Dangerous Opinions of Roger Williams. The Aurea Ensemble provides a soundtrack to readings of Williams.
