On Saturday …

East Greenwich Art Festival: The third-annual arts fest takes place Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the New England Tech campus on Division Road. The arts festival will feature over 150 contemporary American art and crafts artists along with strolling entertainment including Rhode Island’s Big Nazo. The festival will feature items big and small including jewelry, ceramics, paintings, sculpture, fiber and home accessories. You’ll find more information here.

Adopt-A-Pet Open House: Animals are available for viewing and adoption today with the assistance of a dedicated East Greenwich Animal Protection League member. The open house takes place at Greenwich Bay Animal Hospital from 10:30 to 1 p.m. Individual appointments are also available.

Barbecue with the EG Democrats: All are welcome at the annual EG Democratic Town Committee barbecue. Bring a dish to share. 255 Tillinghast Road. 3 p.m.

On Monday – Labor Day …

No trash pickup: Because of the Labor Day holiday yesterday, trash pickup is delayed a day all week, so if your trash is usually picked up on Monday, it will be picked up on Tuesday this week.

EG Farmers Market: Swing by Academy Field this afternoon and pick up prepared foods (Middle Eastern delights from the Deli or pizza from Bravo), items to grill (seafood from Matunuck Oysters, meats from Pat’s Pastured), and lots of fresh vegetables, as well as sweets baked in someone else’s oven! It’s hot-weather fare made easy. From 3 to 6 p.m.
