The East Greenwich Fire District, a separate entity from the town, provides fire and ambulance service to the town of East Greenwich and the Potowomut area of Warwick.

There are two fire stations in East Greenwich; Station 1 is the main headquarters and is on 284 Main Street. Station 2 is on 1180 Frenchtown Road and also houses the Fire District's training facilities.

Fire Chief Peter Henrikson, a second-generation firefighter in East Greenwich, has been with the fire district since the early '80s.
