Sherman, Sr. Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late Adelbert R. and Mary R. (Gallant) Ellinwood. She was an avid bingo player. She is survived by four children – George F. Sherman, Jr., and his wife Debra, Susan A. Lamoureux; Linda M. Moses and Mary E. Dawson; five grandchildren – DJ, Erin, Corey, Justin and Alex; and was one of eleven children. Frances was the daughter of the late Angelo and Santina Villella Almonte. She graduated from St. Xavier High School, and Magna Cum Laude from Salve Regina College. For many years, she and her husband operated the Monte Vista Restaurant in Seekonk.   Carolyn F. (King) Traghella, 76, passed away Sunday, May 19. She was the beloved wife of Richard Traghella for 55 years. Born in Providence, the daughter of the late Elmer and Margretta (Fox) King, she resided in Pawtucket, Warwick and West Warwick before moving to East Greenwich in 2002. Carolyn was employed in the housekeeping department at Kent Hospital for 25 years until retiring in 2002. She enjoyed making seasonal and holiday crafts and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Chris R. Traghella of Kansas City, Missouri, and Mark W. Meredith E. Drench, PhD., PT, 63, of East Greenwich, passed away peacefully on May 17, at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. A graduate of Boston and Northeastern Universities she earned her Doctorate at Union Institute and University and was a professor of physical therapy at Northeastern, Dr. Drench was also an author and a popular lecturer in physical therapy and behavioral sciences and was known for her sharp wit and humor. She worked with health care facilities, associations, agencies and universities, including the Veterans' Administration in Boston. She was born in New York City and grew up in New Jersey. Ralph will be remembered for his unmatched generosity and kindness to all as well as his unfailing wit.

Ralph E. 'Chink' Marden, 97, of East Greenwich, passed away peacefully from this life on May 16, surrounded by his loving family. Ralph was born on March 27, 1916, in Attleboro, Mass., the son of Ralph and Maude E. (Purdy) Marden. A graduate of East Greenwich Academy, he attained the rank of master sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII. Ralph married Mary J. Moretti on August 29, 1942, and together they raised six children. An electrician by trade, he retired from Electric Boat and was active in his community, especially Boy Scouts and Little League. He was a true gentleman with impeccable manners, and a remarkably patient, even-tempered, gentle man with great integrity, who always did the right thing.

Edward J. Corbett, 101, passed away May 11. He was the husband of the late Eleanor J. (O'Donnell) Corbett. Born in County Cork, Ireland he was a son of the late Randalls and Kate (Flanagan) Corbett. Mr. Corbett was a retired police officer for the City of Boston and a WWII Coast Guard veteran. He is survived by four children, Edward J. Corbett and his wife Priscilla; Randall J. She worked with her father, sisters, and cousins at Vincent’s Specialty Store on Atwells Avenue in Providence before opening her own store, Norma & Sons, on Federal Hill.

Norma C. (Pantalone) Walsh, of Warwick, passed away on May 5. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of Vincent and Antonnetta Pantalone (Caione). Norma graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1950 and received a degree in fashion merchandising from Johnson & Wales University. She worked with her father, sisters, and cousins at Vincent’s Specialty Store on Atwells Avenue in Providence before opening her own store, Norma & Sons, on Federal Hill.
