These soft dolls offer comfort to harried adult, eager child alike – you can guess which goes with which.
Two of the hottest gifts for the holidays this year are small, soft dolls – Elf on a Shelf and Dammit dolls – and Bags By Iris carries both types. Elf on a Shelf is a charming pre-Christmas idea for anyone with young children. The elf doll comes with a book and the idea is every night you place the elf in a different spot and your child has to find him. The story goes the elf keeps track of your child's behavior and reports back to Santa. Dammit Dolls are no less cuddly, but their purpose is the opposite of heightening the excitement level. Rather, they are meant to help you get rid of some of that holiday (or any day!) stress. They don't mind being manhandled, they are excellent listeners, and they never ever talk back. Here's what …

Iris has new digs, Staci’s Place offers upscale lingerie, and Luniac Glamour offers hair, makeup, skin care and fun local jewelry, clothing & accessories.
Change happens. On this one particular part of Main Street, a whole lot of change happened the last couple months, but in this case it's been good change. EG’s got three new retail outlets to check out. The first store, Bags By Iris, isn’t new at all, but the location is. Losing her space at 111 Main St., Iris Gesualdi was uncertain how quickly she’d be able to find a new home. But the old Blossom Florist space just down the way at 93 Main St. fit the bill. A mere six weeks after learning she needed to move, Gesualdi is had reopened. The new Bags By Iris offers more space for her extensive Vera Bradley collection. She continues to carry a large selection of Alex & Ani, too, as well as the distinctive clothing and accessories that have …

Bags By Iris was given 45 days to move on June 1; the eclectic clothing store found a new space just a few yards away.
Sometimes things just work out. After Bags By Iris owner Iris Gesualdi learned a month ago she would have to move out of the space at 111 Main Street she’s rented for 11 years, she wasn’t at all sure she’d find a place in time to remain open. Gesualdi talked about selling off as much as possible, then putting the rest in storage until the right space came up. Well, the right space was there all the time. The building at 93 Main Street, former home of Blossom Florist, has been vacant for many months and it was only a few doors away from Gesualdi’s current location. But there was a catch. Gesualdi would have to buy the building. The owner was not interested in renting it to her. Even after 25 years in business, Gesualdi was hesitant about …

Iris Gesualdi says she’s not sure where she’ll go but she has to be out of her current space by July 15.
Bags By Iris, a Main Street fixture for 25 years, has lost its lease and owner Iris Gesualdi is scrambling to find a new location before July 15. She said her landlord, Arlette Cornwall, plans to open up a consignment shop there. The notice was a surprise, according to Gesualdi, in particular the short time frame. She said she was told on June 1 her lease wouldn’t be renewed. By law, landlords must give 30 days notice. Because June is only 30 days long, Gesualdi got an extra 15 days. It still may not be enough time, she said. As a result, she’s got a big sale going on, in hopes of selling as much merchandise as possible. If Gesualdi doesn’t find a new location by July 15, she said she’ll have to put things in storage. Despite all the …
