Police Looking For 2 Men Suspected Of Using Fake ATM Cards

The incidents took place Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Coastway Community Bank on Post Road; other banks may have also been hit.

East Greenwich Police are searching for two suspects who allegedly withdrew money from other people's accounts at Coastway Community Bank by using blank ATM cards Wednesday, Sept. 26. According to police, two men entered the bank located at 5750 Post Road a few minutes apart. They each used blank ATM cards with magnetic strips and accessed customer bank accounts. The suspects fraudulently took an undetermined amount of cash. Both suspects approached the bank on foot and from different directions so  surveillance cameras were not able to pick up any car descriptions or license plate numbers. Transformation Of Former Bay Buick Under Way On Post Road

Business condos will house Coastway Community Bank and Atmed Treatment Center

Work is going full bore on a conversion of the former Bay Buick building on Post Road across from the post office into business condos. The front portion of the building will be a Coastway Community Bank branch and rest of the building will be a second location of Atmed Treatment Center of Johnston, plus other medical offices. Coastway announced it would be adding a branch at the site almost a year ago.   Atmed is a medical group practice which has been in Johnston since 1979 providing routine and urgent medical services. According to Executive Director Elaine Narducci, Atmed is looking for other medical-related businesses to occupy the additional available space. On a positive note, and without getting into a political debate/slamming: a quality urgent medical service would be a great asset to this area- with OT/occupational medicine and a travel clinic also, it would keep US and our business local.
