Cole Boys Soccer Team Captures State Championship

They beat Smithfield's previously unbeaten Gallagher Middle School 1-0 Monday.

The Cole Middle School Boys Soccer team beat the previously undefeated Gallagher Middle School, 1-0, in the state championship game Monday at Classical High School in Providence.  The Cole boys team finished off a strong run through the playoffs with solid defense led by eighth graders Andrew Golding and Dawson Leonard, and seventh graders Eamon Keenan, Donny Cassidy, and Sam Comito. Midfielders Brendan Jordan, Bryce Ingram, Finn Osterhout, Ryan Perrett, and Noah Perry controlled the middle of the field against the larger Gallagher team, opening up opportunities for forwards Andrew Licciardi and Drew Younkin.
