Coventry Police Recover $50K in Stolen Copper, Including Some From EG; 2 Suspects Arrested

The men were also charged by EG Police in connection with copper thefts at a house on Shippeetown Road.

Two Coventry men face felony charges for possession $50,000 worth of stolen copper following arrests earlier this month by Coventry police. They are also being charged by East Greenwich police in connection to copper thefts from a house on Shippeetown Road.  On Feb. 6, Coventry Police Officer Jadine Ferri observed a suspicious vehicle operating on Johnsons Boulevard in Coventry and made note of several large items in the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle then stopped in front of a residence at 90 Johnsons Blvd. Off. Monday, Feb. 4 12:42 p.m. – Police arrested Laura McFarlane, 49, of Smith Street in North Providence, for driving with a suspended license after she was stopped for speeding on Route 4 south. She was clocked at 78 mph in a 55 mph zone. Routine checks turned up the suspended license as well as the fact her car was not registered. She was issued a court summons for the license violation and told to report to the EGPD before her court date for processing. She was also cited for driving an unregistered car. 7:44 p.m. – Police arrested Michael Brennan, 66, of Oak Dell Circle, on a Superior Court warrant. Monday, Feb. 6 7:48 p.m. — Police responded to an incident at a building on Duke Street after the EG Fire District had been called. Fire personnel said it was an argument between two residents. According to the report, residents of different apartments were arguing and one of them appeared to be drunk. While both women believed they had been wronged, eventually police were able to diffuse the situation, the women apoligized to each other and no charges were brought. Wednesday, Feb. 8 4:04 a.m. — Someone reported that a man was banging on a window outside of a building on Main Street and police found a man waiting in a car nearby.
