Cupcake Bakery Coming To 58 Main Street

Silver Spoon Bakery will focus on just two items: cupcakes and French macaroons.

It's official: Main Street is getting a bakery. But don't plan to pick up a fresh baguette there once it opens in November. Rather, the Silver Spoon Bakery will concentrate on cupcakes and French macaroons, offerings that cause people in some parts of the country to line up for 20 minutes or longer to buy. Kelly Colgan, owner of Silver Spoon, appeared before the Town Council Monday night seeking a victualling license for her shop. The council voted 5-0 in favor of granting the license. "I’ve always baked. It was a hobby and I wanted to continue to further," she told the councilors, adding, "Cupcakes are very popular right now."
