Too Darn Hot! Today will be a lot like yesterday. In other words – hot! Remember to drink plenty of water today and make sure your pets have water, too. If you live near an elderly person, you might want to stop by or give a call to make sure they’re ok. For some relief from the heat, Swift Community Center will be open until 4:30 p.m. It’s comfortable, cool, and spacious. And, the Police Department’s Community Room is also available. Fire District meeting: The big issue on tonight’s agenda is discussion of and possible vote on setting aside $300,000 in impact fee funds for the purchase of land at the southwest corner of Post Road and Cedar Avenue. Fire Chief Peter Henrikson made a presentation Saturday about why he thinks the Fire District needs to move the Main Street fire station. The state-owned lot at Post and Cedar could provide an alternate site.
