Convenience Store Woes & A Lot Of Loam

Information about the following incidents was supplied by the East Greenwich Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, August 20 8:05 a.m. – Police arrested John Arruda, 44, of Kingswood Road in North Kingstown, for leaving the scene of an accident. According to the police report, Arruda rear-ended another car on South County Trail then left the scene. Arruda contacted police 70 minutes after the first call was received to report the accident. He told police the other car had refused to yield the right of way and swerved to hit him and he left because he was fearful. Police issued Arruda a court summons. 2:09 p.m. – A Granite Drive resident told police he came home to 3 to 4 yards of unasked-for loam in his driveway. He said it was from a tree service he hired last January that did damage to his lawn. When they never fixed it, he had it fixed …

The East Greenwich Police seem to tow alot of cars. But, they completely ignore the illegal parking at the French Bulldog/Arous hairdresser on Main St at Greenwich Blvd. Cars CONSTANTLY park on the sidewalk, not to mention cars parked less than 15 ft from the corner AND the mannequin and business sign (French Bulldog) that blocks the view of southbound traffic on Main St. This a daily happening. …   more ›
