Fire log reports from the EG Fire District from Monday, Nov. 26, through Sunday, Dec. 2.

Monday, Nov. 26 8:44 a.m. – Vehicle accident with injuries on Route 4 southbound. 9:26 a.m. – Alarm system sounded, no fire, untentional at 232 Main St. 11:21 a.m. – Flammable liquid spill on Route 4 northbound. 4:25 p.m. – Vehicle accident, general cleanup, on 5775 Post Road. Tuesday, Nov. 27 12:32 p.m. – Assisting police, 1050 Main St. 10 p.m. – Carbon monoxide detector activation, no leak, at 36 Locust Drive. Wednesday, Nov. 28 3:22 a.m. – Alarm system sounded due to malfunction at 100 Pegwin Drive. 3:06 p.m. – Mutual aid at 7041 Post Road in North Kingstown. 9:36 p.m. – Carbon monoxide incident, possible problem with furnace at 40 Deerfield Drive. Police Log: Back-to-Back Arrests

Information about the following incidents was supplied by the East Greenwich Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Nov. 29 12:01 a.m. – Police arrested Scott Edes, 44, of Eldredge Avenue, for violating a No Contact order and disorderly conduct after he allegedly went to the residence of a woman he’s not supposed to contact, coming to her residence and then knocking over her trash cans when she refused to let him in. She called police after he refused to leave.  6:25 p.m. – Police arrested Scott Edes again on two bench warrants as his home on Eldredge Avenue. Friday, Nov. 30 8:37 a.m. – Police arrested Robert Mattingly, 42, of South Pierce Road, for driving with a suspended license and driving while under the influence of drugs after he was stopped while driving on Middle Road. Kind of hard to believe that Mattingly's mother would let him drive her car and, especially, let him drive the car with her in it! Looks like a family that makes bad decisions. Glad the cops got him, hope they keep their eye on him so that he isn't able to cause any further mischief.   more ›

Fire Log: Brush Fires, Building Fires

Reports from the East Greenwich Fire District.

Monday, Nov. 19 1:43 a.m. – Carbon monoxide detector went off at 950 Carr's Pond Road. No carbon monoxide released. 2:28 p.m. – A resident of 71 Charlotte Drive in Potowomut was locked in.  Tuesday, Nov. 20 9:39 a.m. – Heat from a wiring short circuit was detected at 1 St. Elizabeth Way. The wiring proved to be worn and defective. 10:20 a.m. – A small brush fire at 110 Bailey Blvd. was extinguished with water. 11:22 a.m. – A gasoline spill at 312 Main St. 2 p.m. – A building fire at 431 Main St. Wednesday, Nov. 21 3:43 p.m. – A motor vehicle accident at 1149 Division St. Thursday, Nov. 22 12:56 a.m. – Someone called in an overheated car on Route 4 southbound.
