Police Log

A De Facto Tenant, Another Cresthill Car Theft

Information about the following incidents was supplied by the East Greenwich Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Sept. 20 1:15 a.m. – A South Road resident told police someone had broken into her home without her consent sometime between 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 1 a.m. Thursday. The lock were broken off but nothing appeared to be missing. 8:49 a.m. – A Cresthill Drive resident reported someone had gone through her car overnight and taken her GPS unit. The car had been parked in her driveway and had been left unlocked. (To read about Cresthill car thefts from last week, click here).  Friday, Sept. 21 11:32 a.m. – An employee of the Greenwich Hotel told police a guest had skipped out on a $183.20 bill. Police located the guest, who had since left the hotel, and he told police he was planning to pay the bill within a week. 4:25 p.m. – Police …
