Obituary: Peter Klanian, 80
The East Greenwich man served in the Korean War and worked in the insurance industry.
Peter Klanian, 80, of East Greenwich, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Kent Hospital in Warwick. He was the beloved husband for 50 years of Lillian S. (Berberian) Klanian. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Hovaness and Haigouhi (Arboian) Klanian. Mr. Klanian was a graduate of Hope High School and the University of Rhode Island where he was a member of Phi Mu Delta Fraternity. He graduated from Boston University Law School and was an underwriter in the insurance industry for many years. He served with the rank of 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; was a member of Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church; and a member of the Knights of Vartan.
