Boy’s Lacrosse Team Opens Season With Back-To-Back Wins
Avengers came on strong against Middletown & Prout last week.
East Greenwich’s returning Division II Championship boy's lacrosse team started off the 2013 season with two big wins this past week. The Avengers kicked off the season on Tuesday against the Middletown Islanders under the watchful eye of a small home-town crowd braving cold temperatures in support of the team. Offense was on target in the first half, with goals scored by Captain Sam Feinberg, Alex White, Joe Madden, and Captain Matt Cruise, and another two points by Colin Bernier. The Islanders answered with one goal by Turano resulting in an Avenger 6:1 lead at the half. Although Middletown came back with two goals in the third quarter by Mazzulli and Coogan, their efforts weren’t enough when combined with EG’s three additional points …
