EGHS Now Has A Real Avenger

The gift from the Class of 2012 – a nearly life-size knight on a horse – has been delivered and is just inside the gates of Carcieri Field awaiting its permanent placement.

It's sitting just inside the gates of Carcieri Field, a 600-pound, 11-foot-tall statue of an Avenger on a rearing horse – the gift of the Class of 2012.  The class recalled by their advisors at graduation last June as being larger than life has left a gift that will ensure they will not soon be forgotten. The metal statue came from Wynn Betts in Colorado. It was sent to Texas to have the Avenger welded in place and then driven across country in a U-Haul. It arrived in January. "I feel this was the perfect gift for our Class of 2012 to give to the school," said Chris Millman, class treasurer, via email.
