No school today - for EG public schools anyway! For the elementary schools, it’s teacher conference day. For Cole Middle School and EGHS, it’s a professional development day for teachers. Planning Board meeting: On the agenda is a pre-application review of Flood Auto Group’s plan to build a “Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center” at the now-empty northeast corner of South County Trail and Frenchtown Road. It would include a seven-car garage and car wash. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall. Agenda is attached, right. Business Expo: The "We Mean Business Expo" offers a unique opportunity to talk face-to-face with federal, state and local officials regarding registering a business, financing, taxes, licensing and permitting. There will also be free workshops on social media, starting a business and marketing. Planning Board meeting: The agenda is brief for tonight’s Planning Board meeting at 7pm at Town Hall. First, the board will be asked to review a preliminary plan to transform the Bay Buick site at 5750 Post Road into “Coastway Commons,” named for the proposed anchor tenant, Coastway Community Bank. You can find the agenda at right. Magical History Tour: It’s one thing to learn about the history of Rhode Island from a textbook, sitting in a classroom.
