Rants and Raves

Town Moderator Mystery & Early Thanks

What to love and hate about living in East Greenwich this week.

RANT: One question – who knows what the Town Moderator does? Hopefully, about 7,319 of you will be able to answer because you voted last Tuesday (I’ll let the other 3,414 registered voters who did not show up at the ballots on November 6 off the hook). The “him,” in case you’re wondering, is Mr. James W. Patti (Republican), who won by a landslide with 98.3% of the vote. Apologies, Mr. Patti. I have now done a little research and realize yours is a thankless task. The Town Moderator…

Odeum Seeks Volunteers, Donations [VIDEO]

That link always made the Odeum special to Madore. Susan Oberbeck, another original volunteer, attended the brunch too, bringing with …

Odeum Invites Volunteers To Kickoff Brunch Sunday

The Main Street theater plans to reopen this spring, but is looking for volunteers to help make that happen.

The Greenwich Odeum will hold a volunteer kick-off brunch on Sunday morning, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m. at the Varnum Armory on Main Street. All past, current and prospective volunteers are encouraged to attend and learn of the variety of opportunities. As the renovation project continues, volunteer needs range from jobs related to physically preparing the building to reopen and handling administrative tasks to a number of opportunities once the theater reopens this spring. “During the 13 years we operated as a very successful performing arts venue, we relied solely upon volunteers for virtually all our needs,” said Frank Prosnitz, Odeum president. “We were one of the best volunteer stories in Rhode Island, and we will be again. Volunteers have …
