Rok Bar 'N' Grill Is Open
The site of the former Post Office Cafe is now a rocking burger-and-music spot, with a fun family menu.
Several months after the initial announcement, Rok Bar and Grill has opened for business, nearly two years after the closure of former occupant, the Post Office Cafe. The restaurant is at 11 Main St., at the corner of Division Street. The rock-and-roll concept is a tribute to Steve Marra, an EG restaurant legend whose company owned not only the Post Office Cafe but the Grille on Main, as well as several other restaurants in Rhode Island. Marra died unexpectedly in August 2011. According to Brendan Sweet, who owns Rok Bar with Walter King, a rock-and-roll style restaurant was something Marra had talked about.
